Can you imagine yourself sleeping under the stars or swimming with your friends on a hot summer day? How about jumping up on stage and being silly or roasting marshmallows over a campfire? Summer camp is a magical place full of laughter, special memories and experiences that are remembered for a lifetime. Unfortunately, each year there are more than 300,000 children in the Michigan area who are unable to attend regular summer camp due to serious medical conditions. These children are told “NO” you cannot attend and denied an opportunity to experience all of the other magic provided at summer camp. We’re working to help bring to reality this unique camp for some very special kids with facilities planned to open in 2014. North Star Reach will provide children with serious health challenges a chance to get away and just be kids. A caring team of camp counselors, health care professionals and volunteers will encourage them every step of the way.
