Pinckney, MI – North Star Reach, a nonprofit camp providing life-changing experiences for children with serious health challenges and their families, invites the community to attend its 3rd Annual Open House on Saturday, May 9, from 2 to 5 pm at its camp in Pinckney.
Held during the organization’s 10th Anniversary, the Year of Mooseness, the Open House offers a unique opportunity for families, volunteers, donors, and community members to experience the magic of camp firsthand.
This free, family-friendly event is designed to welcome both first-time visitors and long-time supporters to explore North Star Reach’s 105-acre camp and connect with the community that makes its mission possible.
Guests can enjoy an afternoon of:
- Arts and crafts
- Archery and camp activities
- A local food truck, La Finca Tacos, donating 10% of proceeds back to camp
- Opportunities to meet campers, families, volunteers, and staff
“Open House is one of the most meaningful ways for the community to experience what North Star Reach is all about,” said J.J. Lewis, Chief Executive Officer. “It’s a chance to step into a space where children with serious health challenges can simply be kids, build friendships, and feel a true sense of belonging. During our Year of Mooseness, this event is a celebration of the community that makes that possible.”
The event also serves as an important entry point for those interested in becoming part of the North Star Reach community. Families considering applying for camp, individuals exploring volunteer opportunities, and community members looking to get involved are encouraged to attend and learn more.
