Pinckney, MI – North Star Reach, the ninth U.S. residential camp in the SeriousFun Children’s Network founded by actor and philanthropist Paul Newman, proudly announces the election of Kate Lauderbaugh to its Board of Directors. Lauderbaugh was unanimously elected by the Board at its September meeting.
“On behalf of the North Star Reach board members, we are excited to welcome Kate to our Board of Directors,” shared Sheri Mark, Board Chair. “Kate’s leadership in strategic communications and her passion for empowering youth and families make her a tremendous addition to our team. I look forward to working alongside her to ensure that every child who comes to camp experiences joy and belonging.”
Lauderbaugh is the Founder and Head of Strategic Communications & Media at Off Main Studio, a boutique consultancy that partners with nonprofits, social impact organizations, and purpose-driven brands to amplify their mission and connect meaningfully with their audiences.
With over a decade of experience in marketing, communications, and public relations, Lauderbaugh has worked alongside organizations of all sizes to develop clear, compelling messaging and integrated campaigns that drive awareness and inspire action. Her work spans brand strategy, content development, media outreach, and digital storytelling — always rooted in alignment between an organization’s mission and the way it shows up in the world.
“I am honored to join the North Star Reach Board of Directors,” said Lauderbaugh. “The mission of this camp—to empower children with serious health challenges to step outside their illness and into a world of possibilities—deeply resonates with me. I look forward to contributing my skills and experiences to help amplify the camp’s story, strengthen partnerships, and ensure more children and families experience the magic of camp.”
North Star Reach Chief Executive Officer J.J. Lewis added, “Kate brings both professional expertise and personal passion to our board. Her commitment to storytelling, equity, and community-building will be instrumental as we prepare for our 10-year anniversary, the ‘Year of Mooseness,’ in 2026. I am excited to collaborate with her to extend the reach of our mission.”
