Hole In The Wall Camps

Association of Hole in the Wall Camps

In 1988, Paul Newman had a radical idea: To build a camp for children with serious illnesses: a place where kids could “kick back, relax and have lots of fun!” To date, this vision has expanded to camps and programs that have served over 200,000 children — free of charge — thanks to generous contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations. The Association of Hole in the Wall Camps is the world’s largest organization serving children with serious illnesses and one of the most respected. The goal of the Association is to extend these experiences to as many children as possible around the world. Comprehensive and unobtrusive medical care allows campers to experience the “magic of childhood”, have FUN, relax, participate in activities they never thought possible, and enhance their self-esteem. In addition to the initial camp in Connecticut, there are also camps in New York, Florida, California, North Carolina, Ireland, France, Israel, U.K., Italy and Hungary. Other camps in development are located in Colorado, Kansas, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Washington. The Association of Hole in the Wall Camps leads the world’s largest family of camps for children with serious medical conditions and has also established seven Global Partnership Initiatives in Africa and Asia.
